About Little Canada

Little Canada is a city in Ramsey County, Minnesota, serving as a second-ring suburb of the Minneapolis-Saint Paul metropolitan area. Founded in 1844 by French-Canadian settler Benjamin Gervais, the community developed around the first independent grist mill in the state. Today, the city of approximately 10,500 borders Lake Gervais, named in his honor. Local education is primarily provided by the Roseville Area School District, with Pioneer Park serving as a major community hub.
