Set along Highway 1 just three miles south of Mendocino, Little River is a tiny coastal community with fewer than a hundred residents. Van Damme State Park serves as the neighborhood's backyard, stretching from a sheltered beach cove deep into the wooded hills. You can easily spend your weekends kayaking, walking along the fern-lined river trails, or exploring the rare pygmy forest up on the ridge. For practical daily needs, families are served by the nearby Mendocino Unified School District, and larger grocery stores and healthcare are just a short drive north in Mendocino and Fort Bragg.
