About Lockhart

Lockhart is a small town in Covington County, Alabama, situated just one mile north of the Florida state line. The community originated in 1904 as a company town built around the Jackson Lumber Company mill. Home to about four hundred and fifty residents, Lockhart provides a residential, forested environment, and local students are educated within the Covington County Board of Education school district.
