Locust Valley is a hamlet and census-designated place on Long Island's North Shore, within the Town of Oyster Bay. Its rolling terrain comes from glacial moraines, and the landscape helped shape the estate-country feel associated with this part of Nassau County. The Locust Valley Central School District serves a broad area that includes several incorporated villages. Locust Valley feels affluent, leafy, and old North Shore, with train access, wooded roads, village shops, and a quieter tone than denser Nassau suburbs.
