Long Beach, MS

Long Beach is a Gulf Coast city in Harrison County, west of Gulfport. It began as an agricultural town known for radishes before incorporating in 1905, and it later became more closely tied to the beach, schools, and coastal recovery. The University of Southern Mississippi's Gulf Park campus adds an academic presence, including the state's only bachelor's degree in ocean engineering. Long Beach feels quieter than some neighboring coast cities, with front porches, schools, Gulf breezes, and hurricane memory all close by.
