Longville, LA

Longville is a quiet rural community in Beauregard Parish with roots stretching back to the early 1900s timber boom. In 1906, the Long-Bell Lumber Company founded the area as a bustling company town, building homes, schools, and local shops around a massive steam sawmill. Named after lumber executive Robert A. Long, the town quickly grew into a lively hub fueled by surrounding pine forests and busy rail lines.

After a major mill fire in 1921, the industrial rush faded, paving the way for the calm, close-knit community you see today. Located along U.S. 171 roughly 40 miles north of Lake Charles, Longville appeals to newcomers looking for quiet country living, friendly neighbors, and room to spread out. The old mill pond has since become Longville Lake, a popular local spot for fishing, family gatherings, and relaxing by the water.
