About Lonoke

Lonoke is a city and the county seat of Lonoke County, Arkansas, located within the Little Rock-North Little Rock-Conway metropolitan area. Established in central Lonoke County, the town grew near the historic site of Brownsville, which was burned during the Civil War. Lonoke has a long-standing commitment to education, dating back to 1879 when local residents privately raised funds to establish their first free public schools. Today, the community is home to about forty-three hundred residents and hosts the main campus of the Lonoke Exceptional School.
