Lost Bridge Village, AR

Lost Bridge Village is a residential CDP on the Beaver Lake side of northeastern Benton County, near Garfield and the wooded hills around Whitney Mountain. Its name reaches back to a 1929 concrete bridge over the White River. The bridge was built without finished approaches, leaving ladders as the first way down to the valley; after a 1943 flood swept it away, the county replaced it with a low-water bridge. That odd piece of road history is still the key to the community’s name.

Beaver Dam was completed in 1966, covering parts of the former Glade and Pine Log communities and remaking the landscape. Developers began shaping Lost Bridge Village soon after, with protective covenants, paved streets, water and sewer service, a lodge, recreation facilities, and a private airstrip. The community association later helped organize fire protection and neighborhood services. Whitney Mountain rises to 1,808 feet, and the lake, roads, chapel, pool, and shared facilities give this hillside settlement a distinctly planned history.
