About Lostant
Lostant is a village in LaSalle County, Illinois, United States. The 2020 census counted 423 residents. Lostant is part of the Ottawa Micropolitan Statistical Area. A post office has been in operation at Lostant since 1861. Lostant Elementary Grade School. The short version is that Lostant carries an earlier story into the places people know and use now. That is the local read on Lostant: its past remains attached to the places people use now. The village was named for Lostant Mercier, the wife of French diplomat Henri Mercier. The village limits extend south to the Marshall County line. Illinois Route 251 runs through the western side of the village, leading north 5 miles to Tonica and south 7 miles to Wenona.
