Louisiana is a Pike County city on the Mississippi River south of Hannibal, where river shipping once helped make the town a commercial point. That trade left behind substantial antebellum houses and the Georgia Street Historic District, both part of the city's National Register story. Route 54 and Missouri 79 meet the river town, while the annual Louisiana Country Colorfest brings a large fall festival to the downtown district.
