About Louisville
Louisville is a historic town in Barbour County, Alabama, located ten miles southwest of the county seat of Clayton. Founded in 1817 in former Creek territory, the town of about five hundred residents holds the unique distinction of having served as the county seat for both Pike and Barbour counties. Historically nicknamed Little Scotland due to its original Scotch-Irish settlers, the residential rural community is situated six miles northeast of Clio.
