Loves Park, IL

Loves Park is a city in Winnebago and Boone counties, just north of Rockford. Its unusual name comes from Malcolm Love, a Rockford industrialist who bought land in 1901 and created a gathering place along the Rock River. The city still feels closely tied to Rockford, but it has its own schools, neighborhoods, riverfront, parks, and commercial corridors. Loves Park feels like a practical northern Illinois city with a little name-brand charm, suburban in places but rooted in the Rockford industrial region.
