Lowes Island, VA

Lowes Island is a census-designated community in eastern Loudoun County, Virginia, near the Potomac River. It takes its name from an island along the river's south shore, and its location puts it near both Fairfax County and Montgomery County, Maryland across the water. With about eleven thousand residents, Lowes Island is part of Northern Virginia's affluent outer-suburban landscape. The community is residential, commuter-oriented, and shaped by river proximity as much as by Loudoun County growth.
