About Loyola

Loyola is a small census-designated place in Santa Clara County, tucked near Los Altos and the foothills above Silicon Valley. Its name comes from an early 1900s plan by Jesuits from Santa Clara University to build a university named for St. Ignatius of Loyola. That campus never became the defining feature, but the name stayed. Today Loyola is mostly residential, served by Los Altos-area schools, with a residential, affluent foothills character and quick access to the Peninsula's job centers.
