About Lumberton

Lumberton is a city and the county seat of Robeson County, North Carolina, situated along the scenic Lumber River in the state's southern Inner Banks region. Founded in 1787 by Revolutionary War officer John Willis, the community of approximately 18,900 historically developed as a major shipping point for navy timber. Today, the city is home to the Lumber River State Park and is served by the Public Schools of Robeson County.
