Lyons, CO

Tucked into the foothills of Boulder County, Lyons is a small town of around 2,200 people where the North and South St. Vrain creeks meet. Often called the Double Gateway to the Rockies, it sits right at the base of the mountains along the route up to Rocky Mountain National Park. The historic downtown is lined with distinctive red sandstone buildings, local cafes, and quiet neighborhood streets that give the whole area a relaxed, welcoming character.

Outdoor recreation and a lively arts scene are central to daily life here. Trails at Hall Ranch and Heil Valley Ranch are minutes away for hikers and mountain bikers, while LaVern M. Johnson Park offers riverside lawns and easy spots to tube down the creek. The town is also famous for hosting intimate summer music festivals at Planet Bluegrass along the riverbanks. With strong local schools and an easy commute to Boulder and Longmont, Lyons offers a comfortable foothills lifestyle with plenty of small-town charm.
