Madison Lake, MN

Madison Lake is a Blue Earth County city on the northwest shore of the lake that gives it its name, with 1,247 residents in the 2020 census. Lewis and Margaret Fitcher platted the town in 1885, and Madison Lake incorporated in 1892 after including the earlier Point Pleasant town site. Minnesota Highway 60 runs through the center, with U.S. 14 nearby and the lake opening the town toward the Mankato area. Main Street still carries the older town shape, with old-town facades, the community center, and the 1911 water-tower history nearby. Tim Page Memorial Park grew from an American Legion baseball field, and North Shore Park adds the lakefront and veterans memorial. The Sakatah Singing Hills State Trail runs east toward Faribault and west toward Mankato for hiking, biking, horseback riding, skiing, and snowmobiles. Madison Lake is a small lake city where a two-block business core, a regional trail, and a working shoreline all meet.
