Mandaree, ND

Mandaree is a small, tight-knit community on the Fort Berthold Indian Reservation in western North Dakota. Established in 1954 after the construction of the Garrison Dam flooded historic settlements along the Missouri River, the town takes its name from the three affiliated tribes: the Mandan, Hidatsa, and Arikara (Ree). Tucked into open prairie along Highway 22, it sits about 30 miles southwest of New Town, with Watford City to the west and Killdeer to the south.
