Manvel, ND

Located along the Turtle River just a short drive north of Grand Forks, Manvel offers a quiet, small-town setting with an easy commute to the city. The community got its start in the 1860s as a stagecoach stop before growing around the railroad in 1881, taking its name from rail agent Allen Manvel. Today, it remains a peaceful prairie community where residents can enjoy plenty of breathing room while staying connected to regional job centers and amenities.

Daily life here revolves around a tight-knit atmosphere and a single local school serving students from pre-K through eighth grade, after which older kids typically attend high school in Grand Forks. Most town staples sit within a few blocks, from the local coop and post office to the community center and park. Every summer, neighbors gather for the annual Manvel Days celebration, enjoying picnics, softball tournaments, parades, and an evening street dance.
