About Manvel

Manvel is a growing Brazoria County city south of Houston, with roots along Chocolate Bayou going back to the Booth family's 1857 settlement. For a long time it was a small Gulf Coast prairie community, but Houston's southward growth has changed the scale and pace of the place. Manvel is now shaped by new subdivisions, highway access toward Pearland and Alvin, nearby Alvin Community College service, and the tension between open land and fast suburban development.
