Mapleton, PA

Tucked along the south bank of the Juniata River, Mapleton is a quiet borough of around 400 people nestled right against the base of Jacks Mountain. Route 655 runs straight through town, giving residents a straightforward connection across the river to U.S. 22 and neighboring towns like Huntingdon and Mount Union. Mapleton originally grew around the Pennsylvania Railroad, and you can still see that heritage along its streets. The historic feed mill, built in the early 1900s and now known as Mapleton Farm and Garden, remains a central landmark on the National Register of Historic Places.
