Marathon, OH

Marathon is a small, quiet community of about 150 residents in northeastern Clermont County. Located along U.S. Route 50 in Jackson Township, this rural hamlet offers a relaxed countryside setting surrounded by open farmland and wooded patches. The settlement dates back to the 1830s and later served as a stop along the historic electric rail line connecting Cincinnati and Columbus. Today, Marathon consists of a few dozen homes spread along the highway corridor. It provides a peaceful, low-traffic environment for people seeking space and quiet, while still offering a straightforward drive west toward Williamsburg, Batavia, and the greater Cincinnati area for groceries, dining, and work.
