Marianna, PA

Marianna is a small, quiet community of fewer than 600 people set along a steep hillside above Ten Mile Creek in southwestern Pennsylvania. Established in 1907 by the Pittsburg-Buffalo Company, it was designed from the ground up as a planned coal town, complete with sturdy brick homes branching up from the creek valley along Beeson Avenue. It was named after Mary Ann Jones, the wife of the mining company's founder, and that original turn-of-the-century street layout still defines the borough today.
