About Marion

Marion is the county seat of Crittenden County, just across the Mississippi River from the Memphis side of the metro. It was incorporated in 1896, but the community is older, with the county seat having moved inland from Greenock on the river. Today Marion works as a quieter Arkansas counterpart to nearby West Memphis: local schools, county government, general-aviation access, and everyday ties to the Memphis job market shape its role.
