Marion, LA

Marion sits in north Union Parish, where a town founded in 1832 now works as one of the parish’s small civic centers. The town was established in 1832 and remains one of Union Parish’s older towns. The 2020 census counted 623 residents, including Truxno in the northwestern part of the town limits. Marion’s name is tied to an early settler from Marion, Alabama, though local accounts also connect it to Revolutionary War figure Francis Marion.
