Marland, OK

Marland is a quiet, rural community in Noble County, located just south of Ponca City along State Highway 156. The town got its start in the late nineteenth century as Bliss, serving as a railroad shipping point for the famous Miller Brothers 101 Ranch. In those early days, cattle stockyards, grain elevators, and local stores made it a bustling agricultural stop on the Santa Fe line.

In 1922, residents chose to rename the town after oilman and future Oklahoma governor E.W. Marland as oil exploration joined ranching across the region. Today, Marland offers a peaceful, small-town atmosphere surrounded by rolling farmland and open prairie. It is a relaxed place to live for anyone who appreciates wide open spaces while remaining an easy fifteen-minute drive from the shopping, healthcare, and everyday conveniences of Ponca City.
