About Marthasville
Marthasville is a Warren County city with 1,245 residents in the 2020 census, sitting near the bluffs above the Missouri River and along the Katy Trail. The trail is the first thing many outsiders notice, but locals also know the place as part of Daniel Boone’s last Missouri chapter: Boone lived nearby, and his original gravesite is just outside the city limits. The river valley, vineyards, and trail put a lot of landscape into a small city. That mix makes the Katy Trail feel tied to town, not merely passing through here.
Downtown Marthasville connects to the School District of Washington, while the Katy Trail brings cyclists through town for food, rest, and a turn through Warren County’s wine country. The city’s post office dates to 1825, and the name “Martha” remains disputed, a small local mystery behind a very old place name. Marthasville is a river-and-trail town with Boone, grapes, and old Missouri routes all in the same conversation.
