Marysville, KS

Marysville is located along the Big Blue River in northeastern Kansas, roughly 75 miles northwest of Topeka and just over an hour south of Lincoln, Nebraska. As the seat of Marshall County, the town has deep historic roots dating back to the pioneer era, when it served as a key river crossing along the Oregon Trail and Pony Express routes. You can still see that heritage in the downtown area, where the original Pony Express home station and the historic courthouse museum sit right alongside locally owned shops and cafes.

For newcomers, Marysville offers a quiet, neighborly pace of life with plenty of local amenities. The town features a well-regarded public school district, a community aquatic center, a public library, and scenic green spaces like Historic Trails Park along the river. Longtime railroad activity through the Union Pacific line helps support the local economy, and you will quickly notice the community's most famous residents, a large population of black squirrels that earned Marysville its official nickname. It is a friendly, grounded community with plenty of character.
