Sitting right on the Hernando-Pasco county line, Masaryktown is a quiet rural community with a fascinating backstory. Founded in the 1920s by Slovak and Czech immigrants, the town was named after Czechoslovakia’s first president, and you can still see that heritage in street signs pairing American presidents with Czechoslovak leaders. After early citrus crops were wiped out by freezes, the community reinvented itself as a major egg-producing hub. Today, Masaryktown offers a laid-back, small-town atmosphere with plenty of open space, all while keeping you within easy commuting distance of Spring Hill, Brooksville, and Tampa.
