Matoaca, VA

Matoaca is a quiet, scenic community tucked along the Appomattox River in southern Chesterfield County. Home to fewer than 3,000 residents, it offers a relaxed, semi-rural setting just south of Richmond and minutes from Petersburg. Named in honor of Pocahontas, born Matoaka, the area carries deep historic roots tied to old mill sites and river crossings.
