Mayview, MO

Mayview is a quiet Lafayette County community of around 200 residents, tucked into the rolling farmland east of the Kansas City metro. Founded in 1866, the town supposedly got its name from how beautiful the surrounding countryside looked on a clear spring day in May. Today, it offers a peaceful, slow-paced setting where open fields meet a handful of quiet residential streets.

Because of its small size, everyday life here is closely tied to neighboring towns. Local students attend the Odessa R-VII School District a few miles to the west, heading into Odessa for classes, sports, and school activities. Residents handle most of their major shopping, dining, and healthcare in nearby hubs like Odessa or Higginsville, enjoying the calm of rural living with easy access to the broader metro area when needed.
