McClusky is a city in Sheridan County, North Dakota, United States. The 2020 census counted 322 residents. McClusky is the county seat of Sheridan County. McClusky was founded in 1905. McClusky is the closest town to the geographical center of North Dakota, which lies approximately five miles to the southwest. The city was named for William Henderson McClusky, an early settler. The Red River Valley and Western Railroad ran to McClusky and further west until the early 1990s, with formal abandonment of the rail line occurring in 2000.
