McComb, OH

McComb is a quiet Hancock County village tucked about ten miles northwest of Findlay, surrounded by open fields and classic northwest Ohio countryside. In its earliest days back in the 1840s, it went by Todd Town, though early residents quickly nicknamed it "Toad Town" after the noisy frogs in the nearby marsh ponds. It was officially renamed McComb in 1858, but that unpretentious, friendly personality has stuck around ever since. Today, it offers a relaxed pace where neighbors know each other and the streets stay peaceful.

Much of the community gathers around the McComb Local School campus, where Friday night football games and youth activities serve as the main social hub. The village itself is small and easy to navigate, with neat neighborhoods, a community park, and a long-standing bakery plant that occasionally makes the whole town smell like fresh cookies. When you need bigger grocery runs, specialty shopping, or healthcare, Findlay is just a fifteen-minute drive away, making it a convenient home base with plenty of small-town charm.
