About McGehee
Its development has been closely tied to the railroad, which arrived in the area in 1870 and helped the town grow as an agricultural trading center. McGehee is home to the Japanese American Internment Museum, which commemorates the wartime incarceration of Japanese Americans at the nearby Rohwer and Jerome camps. US 278 connects the city westward to Monticello.
