McKinleyville, CA

McKinleyville is an unincorporated Humboldt County community on California's far North Coast, just north of Arcata. It is one of the larger communities in the region and is home to Arcata-Eureka Airport, the main airport for Humboldt County. The setting is strongly shaped by water and weather, with the Mad River to the south, the Pacific Ocean to the west, and several local creek watersheds running through the area. McKinleyville also sits within Wiyot and Yurok traditional territory, and both communities remain part of local life.
