McLean, NE

McLean is a tiny village in northeast Nebraska's Pierce County, home to around thirty residents. The community sprang up in 1890 as a stop along the railroad, taking its name from local rail foreman Donald McLean. In its early years, it served as a convenient shipping stop for area farmers, complete with grain elevators, a hotel, a school, and essential neighborhood shops. Today, McLean offers a quiet, relaxed pace of rural living, where the surrounding farmland and original railroad layout still define the town's easygoing charm.
