Melbourne is a residential city and the county seat of Izard County, Arkansas. Located in the northern part of the state, the community is best known as the home of the main campus of Ozarka College. Public secondary education for local families is provided by the Melbourne School District, which operates Melbourne High School, famous for its unique Bearkatz athletic mascot.
