Tucked along the North Fork of the Holston River in Southwest Virginia, Mendota is a quiet, close-knit rural community of around 135 people. Named from a Native American word meaning "bend in the river," this scenic valley hamlet offers peaceful Appalachian living surrounded by forested ridges.
