Menifee, AR

Menifee is a quiet Conway County town of around 400 people, sitting right along U.S. Route 64 in central Arkansas. It offers the slower rhythm of a small rural community, but its location makes getting around straightforward. Conway is less than a ten-minute drive to the southeast, Morrilton is about eleven miles west, and an on-ramp to Interstate 40 connects directly toward Little Rock. Cadron Creek winds nearby, giving the surrounding landscape plenty of open green space.

The community started in the 1820s as a river ferry crossing before growing around a depot on the Little Rock and Fort Smith Railroad. By the late 19th century, Menifee had grown into an established Black town with its own schools, local shops, and medical practices serving families across the county. After a major tornado tore through in 1960, residents rebuilt the town center along Highway 64 on higher ground. That resilience shaped the Menifee of today, where deep local roots and easy highway access come together.
