Meridian, CA

Meridian is a quiet rural community nestled along the banks of the Sacramento River in Sutter County. Home to around three hundred residents, it offers a relaxed, small-town atmosphere surrounded by the rich farmland and orchards of the Sacramento Valley. State Route 20 runs right through town, leading to the historic Meridian Bridge, a distinctive steel swing bridge that crosses the river to connect Sutter with neighboring Colusa County.

The town started in the nineteenth century as a riverboat landing where steamboats transported goods across the valley, and that connection to the water remains strong today. Local children attend Meridian Elementary School, and residents enjoy easy access to river fishing, boating, and peaceful country roads. Everyday life moves at a slow and neighborly pace, with the shopping, restaurants, and healthcare in Yuba City or Colusa only a short drive away.
