Metamora is a quiet village in Lapeer County centered around a classic historic crossroads. Settled back in the 1830s, the center of town retains a genuine small-town feel, anchored by the local post office, the library, and the landmark White Horse Inn. Harmer Park sits right in the middle of it all, giving residents an easy, walkable green space for casual meetups, picnics, and afternoon strolls.

Community traditions shape the seasons throughout the year. Summer brings weekly concerts to Harmer Park, leading up to the annual Metamora Country Days and Hot Air Balloon Festival with its colorful evening launches, food trucks, and craft vendors. The surrounding countryside has deep equestrian roots, so horses are a regular sight, especially during the December Wassail Parade when riders and horse-drawn carriages take over the downtown streets for the holidays.
