Meyers Lake, OH

Meyers Lake is a Stark County village built around a 144-acre lake in the middle of the county. Andrew Meyer, a pioneer whose land later became part of Sweet Spring Farm, gave the lake its name; the community was founded in 1812 and incorporated as a village in 1927. The lake remains the village's central landmark, a body of water that began as a rural feature and later supported recreation. The water is still the fixed point on the village map.

The old Meyers Lake Park and Moonlight Ballroom are still part of local memory, and the village's 2026-27 centennial plans include a memorabilia exhibit with the McKinley Presidential Library & Museum and an art show focused on the park, ballroom, and village. That preservation work gives the place a second center beside the water: a community remembering the amusement park and dances that once shaped the shoreline. Meyers Lake is a small Canton-area village whose identity sits in the lake, the park history, and the anniversary calendar.
