Middleton, ID

Middleton is a Canyon County city west of Boise, named for its early position midway between Old Fort Boise and Keeney's Ferry. In its early years it served travelers along Oregon Trail-era routes, while modern Middleton has become part of the fast-growing Treasure Valley. The city still has a smaller, agricultural-edge feel compared with Boise or Meridian, but subdivisions and commuting patterns are changing it quickly. Middleton is best understood as a former rural crossroads now being pulled into metro Boise growth.
