Midway, LA

Midway is a Census-designated place in central LaSalle Parish, immediately west of Jena and near Good Pine. Its two main road lines are U.S. 84 through the northern side and Louisiana 8 through the southern side: U.S. 84 runs toward Jena and Tullos, while Louisiana 8 reaches Jena and continues southwest toward Pollock. Those highways give this unincorporated community a clear north-south spread even though its local footprint is only about three square miles.

Midway is LaSalle Parish's Census-designated place, separate from the incorporated towns of Jena, Olla, Tullos, and Urania. Jena is the parish seat, so county government and larger services sit just east of the CDP. Midway's local picture is a named community on the highway network, with homes and rural land arranged between two routes and with parish institutions close by. The road corridor ties Midway to the parish seat and to rural communities west and southwest, with county services nearby along the same central LaSalle road network.
