About Midway North

Midway North is a Hidalgo County census-designated place in the McAllen–Edinburg–Mission metro, with 4,232 residents in the 2020 census. The community covers about 2.1 square miles, and Midway Road divides much of its school map. Sections east of the road are in Weslaco ISD, while the western side is in Donna ISD; Cleckler-Heald, Rudy Silva, Beatriz Garza, and Weslaco High are among the schools tied to the eastern portion. Midway North has no separate town government, so the surrounding Valley cities and school districts supply most of the recognizable civic destinations. Weslaco's Valley Nature Center, a six-acre native-habitat and environmental education center with trails, bird habitat, and butterfly gardens, is a nearby place to get out of the subdivision grid. The CDP's local shape comes from the road, school boundaries, and the larger Weslaco-Donna map: a small unincorporated pocket with metro-scale institutions just beyond its edges.
