Midway, PA (CDP)

Midway is an Adams County census-designated place inside Conewago Township, tucked between Hanover in neighboring York County and McSherrystown. Pennsylvania Route 116 runs through the community, putting it in the Hanover–McSherrystown road corridor. This is the Adams County CDP, not the Midway borough in Washington County or one of Pennsylvania's other Midways. Conewago Valley School District serves the area, with Conewago Township Elementary in the local school map. Midway has no incorporated municipal government, so township roads, county systems, and nearby boroughs handle the practical services that a town hall would cover elsewhere.

The surrounding Conewago Valley carries an older settlement history. German-speaking settlers arrived in the eighteenth century, the Mason-Dixon survey passed through the region, and Conewago Chapel remains a landmark west of the Susquehanna. Agriculture still fills much of the landscape outside the CDP, while Hanover supplies nearby jobs, shopping, and services across the county line. Midway's local texture is a cluster of homes and side roads along Route 116, with school boundaries and township infrastructure doing most of the civic work. The place name sounds broad, but the tracked geography is a compact Adams County community.
