Midway South, TX

Midway South is a Hidalgo County census-designated place in the Rio Grande Valley, tucked between Weslaco, Donna, and the larger McAllen–Edinburg–Mission area. There is no incorporated town center here; the place is read through roads, neighborhoods, school boundaries, and the surrounding South Texas grid. South Midway Road divides the school picture: the eastern side is tied to Weslaco ISD, while the western side falls in Donna ISD. That split is useful local knowledge because the same CDP name covers both sides. For a place with few named landmarks in the usual town-history sense, its map—and the school lines drawn across it—does most of the work.
