Milesburg, PA

Milesburg is a Centre County borough named for Samuel Miles, who co-owned the Centre Furnace Iron Works with John Patton and John Dunlop. The name reaches beyond the borough: nearby Miles Township shares it. The place also sits near Bald Eagle’s Nest, a former Lenape settlement, adding a deeper layer to the local map than the borough’s size suggests.
