About Millbury

Millbury is a Wood County village whose site was once called Clay Junction. It was platted in 1864, took the name of Millbury, Massachusetts, and has had a post office since 1857. Village government now handles police protection, street maintenance, snow removal, parks, and waste collection from its Main Street building. Millbury also sits inside the larger Lake Township civic map: the township offices are in the village, and a memorial marks the seven people killed in the June 5, 2010 tornado that destroyed the township administration building, police department, and Lake High School. The village’s history is tied to the township around it.
