Minersville, UT

Minersville is a town in southeastern Beaver County, set among mountain foothills northwest of the Black Mountains and along Utah State Route 21. The town was founded in 1859 after lead was discovered at the nearby Lincoln Mine; county history says recovery furnaces were built in 1858, and the early settlement was tied to the effort to work that ore. The name still gives away the first chapter. Today the town’s local map reaches from Main Street and town offices to Minersville Reservoir, where Beaver County manages a campground and boat ramp. Minersville carries the feel of a mining settlement that became a reservoir town, with the old lead country and the newer water landscape sharing the same horizon.
